Please contact EKCO Hand Therapy for more information on costs.
Medicare will only rebate a proportion of your costs if your GP has put you on a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care or EPC). If you are on this type of plan, you will need to bring all documentation with you. You will need to pay for your consultation and consumables upfront and then we can swipe your Medicare card to process your rebate.
If you provide us with 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee will not be applied. If you notify us within 24 hours or don’t attend your appointment, we reserve the right to charge up to 50% of the consultation fee to compensate for the time lost.
Please allow an hour for your first appointment and half an hour for subsequent appointments unless advised otherwise. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment to provide time to complete the required paperwork.
Referrals are encouraged but not a requirement. You may come to us without a referral, however it may affect your ability to claim through insurance.
Legally you should not drive with a splint on, and your insurance may not cover you if involved in an accident.
It depends on your fund and your level of cover. You will need to contact your fund directly to find out exact amounts. In our primary clinics we can swipe your health fund card at the time of payment. Certain funds will cover physio, occupational therapy and splints, so be sure to check with them.
It depends on the injury – your practitioner in hand therapy will be able to give you a better idea after your first appointment.
No, all consumables including splints are charged separately to your consultation.
We offer free parking at some of our clinics – please refer to the Clinic Locations pages for further information.
Please bring your referral if you have one, any X-Rays or scans, and your private health fund information. If you are a WorkCover patient, please bring your claim number. If you are a DVA patient please bring your Department of Veterans Affairs card.
